The way of the househusband Netflix review: The Household Manga-based Way is about Tatsu, known as Immortal Dragon, a former Yacuza boss, with an appalling reputation who has chose to give up his crime lives and to become the husband of his career-orientated wife, Miku. The Manago-style is the manga series by Kousuke Oono, starring Kenjiro Tsudas (who was also the main character in promotional Manga videos). But his skill with various weapons, quick thinking, and intimidating demeanour all come in handy even in everyday life. Tatsu, a tall man with full back tattoos and facial scars, strikes a menacing figure, but he is more concerned with carefully preparing his wife’s bento lunches and getting good deals.
Tatsu, a tall man with full back tattoos and facial scars, strikes a menacing figure, but he is more concerned with carefully preparing his wife’s bento lunches and getting good deals. There are also deliberate anachronisms in the art of The Way of the Househusband, with many frames lifted directly from the manga and actual animation kept to a minimum.
With only chattering mouths and roving eyes revealing that this isn’t a page-to-page adaptation. It’s not the most technically impressive visual style you’ve ever seen, but it’s so in keeping with the show’s ideas and themes that you can’t help but be charmed by it – and the same can be said for the series as a whole.
